Two days ago I cut the lights from running 10 hours a day to 6 to try and stop the hair algae that's starting to pop up everywhere. I cut back feedings. Haven't done a lot of WC because I'm hyper dosing with Mg for the Bryopsis and don't want to dilute the levels. (Which, by the way, is all but gone in just a couple weeks)
Back to my question, I noticed today that snails had laid eggs on the glass and my shrimp is carrying around a small white translucent globe. I can only assume it's an egg sack. Could the drastic change in lighting bring this on? It's the only variable that hasn't been at a constant.
I know there are some certain plants that when their light levels are drastically reduced at once they go into hyper production mode. Could the same be with inverts?
