Hey guys, does any know if you can drill the bottom of a 40 breeder? I know you can drill the side of them since I just drill two holes on the side of my 40 breeder sump. Now I need to drill the side and bottom of another 40 breeder for my external fuge and don't want to start drillng unless I'm sure I can. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Hoang

Most bottom glass on off the shelf tanks are going to be tempered. If you really want to make sure, you can use a laptop screen and a pair of polarized sunglasses to check.

OK, thanks guys. Here's a better question. Has anyone drilled the bottom of their 40 breeder? It's ok if I can't drill it, I'll just have to make some minor adjustments to my plans but nothing major.

it depends on the tank manufacturer, i got one of the dollar per gallon 40 breeders from petco around christmas and it was a tetra tank and the bottom was tempered so i returned it and got an aqueon one from another member and its not tempered on any of the panes. i plan on drilling it on the bottom, i just havent gotten to it yet.

The guy I bought it from said he got it from the dollar per gallon sale but I'm not sure which brand it yet. I'm going to go ahead and drill it on the back towards the bottom corner to safe. I can still get the same results by doing that. Thanks for the input guys.
