Drilling Glass

Does anyone know how to tell if a glass tank can be drilled in the sides? I thought there was a way to tell if the glass is tempered or not.

What size tank is it and do you know who made it? But most don't have tempered sides to my knowledge.

Not sure but i did find the youtube video where you can use polarized sunglasses and a light source and you can tell if the glass is tempered or not.

I've heard some guys say look at a shallow angle. That might be the polarization thing.

JB and I just tested a few of our tanks that we are going to drill in the near future with this same method. We had to find a piece of tempered glass just to make sure.

Butch are those the tanks yall were going to drill about a month ago? :shades:

Most cars rear windshields are tempered if you need something to test and compare to.
There are plenty of people in this area that have experience with drilling tanks if you need help.

Curtis - those are the tanks I'm talking about. When you have MTS, you don't have to rush. lol

I don't think two tanks qualifies for MTS.

Edit: JB has it but getting better, or worse depends on how you look at it.
