Any suggestions on increasing the amount of live sand in my aquarium? I've heard suggestions such as rinsing it before adding and adding it slowly to prevent cloudiness. I'm ok with either, just want to ensure I'm doing the rig cloudy water, etc..ht thing. Do I need to add it in small amounts and let it acclimate or can I add a bag at a time?

75 gallon reef. I believe it has 4 bags now which appears to be 1-2 inches. I'm looking to double it.

Pros/cons/suggestions all greatly appreciated.

After reading through some other posts on here and other sites it seems there is quite the debate on this topic. When I started this journey it seemed a no-brainer, now I am starting to lean towards leaving my sand bed alone.

I would remove some in sections, then add double there realizing that of course it will scatter. I change some of mine out every 2 to 3 months....

I'm personally not a fan of the DSB. I have had them, plenums, and 2 inch deep beds, but never done a Berlin (too stark, so why?).

If you add any, my suggestion would be to either-

1) pull it all out and start over, or

2) add a little at a time, til you get it where you want it.

If I ever did a DSB again, I would have it in a separate tank that I could isolate from the main display, just for this reason.
