Looks like they have a new controller that will allow you to control 2 pumps with 1 controller. Kind of last weeks news, but I had not seen it mentioned on here yet.

Random flow is awesome for corals. I just found this article though, which makes me wander what it is doing to our fish.

I am not saying that random flow is bad. I just found this interesting, and thought I would share.

Think about what the ocean does? Its pretty random

In all honesty most places I've been diving the flow wasn't all that random. It was pretty easy to handle. Not constant back and forth motion.

That is a tough price to beat.

I just hooked up 2 new WP40's over the weekend and wrote a 24 hour custom pump schedule. I'm running all the populat vortech modes like Reefcrest, Nutrient Transport, and Tidal Swell. Also others like Short Pulse, Long Pulse, and Sine. I have full dimming control and can program the pumps to sync or anti sync. I'm amazed at what I am now able to do. Money well spent. Many told me that WP40's were too strong, but with this kind of control it is no issue whatsoever (as a note I have a larger particle substrate - so sandstorms are not an issue for me)

What size tank do you have

120

Edit:

No modification required. Instead of hooking the pump up to the Jebao controller I use a special Reef Angel cable that connects from the pump to a PWM dimming signal. Then I can program the pumps to run at any intensity or any mode at any time during the day.

I'm on the verge of either the 25 or 40's. I'm having a hard time making up my mind. I have a 90 gallon do you think the 25 or 40's. I'm leaning towards the 40's. Do I understand their broken English that I can control the intensity of the flow through various percentages? Thanx

Mike I would go with one of each. I know some might disagree but I have seen two 40s in a 180. I use one of each in my 120 and its perfect.

So your saying one 25 with one 40? Well I wonder how that would effect the new packages they have with 2(x) type ph and one master controller.

Well if you are going to run them through an RA then you will be able to control the percentage exactly. I would go with 2 of the same. i think it would be hard to create the proper wave motion in nutrient transport mode with 2 different powered pumps. But 2 40s would be a lot of power for a 90.

I have a 40 in my 110g(48x18x30) at 50% on else mode it is borderline to much. I would go with 25's or get the new controller to bring it down to 30%. That is what I would do if i could do it over again.
