Dual Vortech Placement?

I finally managed to piece together an entire 2nd mp40w. The only thing I had to buy retail was the motor assembly. Lucky for me one of our sponsors had it for $199 before our discount and that included the pin spacer, etc. Other places had you buy the spacer and the rubber piece for an extra $30!

So now where to place the second one and what's the best way to tie the two together? I've lost the manual, but I'm going to check for it on-line. The tank is a 120 with an external overflow and has predominately LPS and a few SPS.

I run one on each end, set in anti-sync mode (the master mode varies based on the time of day).

So, how does your mode change throughout the day? Also, do I need to upgrade the firmware? Lastly, how can I tell if I have Gen 1 or Gen 2?

OK. All done. The instructions made it seem a ton harder than it actually was. Brett from customer service walked me through it in a matter of 90 seconds. It "seems" though like the slave doesn't slow down much when the master is running full blast. I put the master in feed mode and the slave followed though, so I know they are tied.

On a side note, I've felt lately like the pump I'm using for my master has lost a little of it's "umph". Anyone else ever think that? Just seems like it used to crank up real high and now it's just, meh.

+1

if you want multiple modes throughout a day.. you only have two options.. manually set them when you want it changed..

or

buy an Apex (JR?) with a WXM module and set the programming and forget about it.. (only controller in the world that can run multiple vortech modes in a given day)

Apex is the most versatile controller out there..

I really need to program my MP40's - right now they are just turned on all the time, no feed mode, night mode, slave mode, slap ya momma mode or nothing...
