I bought a four head duncan about 3-4 months ago. I have tried different water flow and lighting but cannot seem to get anymore heads to grow.

Its open and kinda full but not nearly as full as some I see in LFS. I was feeding all coral dr g's phytoplankton but have not in 3-4 weeks. I never really saw any difference while feeding or not.

I get water tested once a month usually. Everything in the tank seems happy and healthy.

My other corals seem to grow but slowly.

Please ask me if I did not provide enough info.

Thanks for the advice.

Steve

Phyto might be too small for duncans, try to feed mysis etc.
Mine was dormant for some months and then took off like a rocket.

Oh yeah
30" 2 bulb t5 10k and actinic over a 29g tank
1 12" panorama led ( white/actinic mix)

Thanks

Edit: I do feed the tank mysis once or twice a week and I have seem them grab it.

Wha t about iodine? Should I be using any?

Edit: Do I need to "cut it" to get it to grow or should it populate on its own?

I have been scouring the internet ( i beilive evetything I read out there ) and seems to be a mixed bag but those who do spot feed said they grow like crazy. So ill try that.

Whats the best way to spot feed? Syringe and air tube maybe?

Use a coral feeder (below) or turkey baster. You can feed any meaty foods and they'll grow like crazy. Try every other day or every three days and watch them take off.

All I know is I have 2 frags of Duncan and I just noticed today that one head has sprouted 7 babies. I rarely target feed, their in the middle of the tank, medium flow under 250w mh. I feed mysis and cyclops-ease
