so i have a durso....diy. and i cant get it to drain at a constant rate...the water lvl in the overflpw rises and drops every few seconds which causes the return area of my sump to drop which makes micro-bubbles.....i have a rather small hole drilled in the cap on the pvc.....3/16....any thoughts?....or is it normal for the water lvls to drop and rise?

Make the hole a little bigger. The water is being siphoned because there is not enough air to break the siphon and then you hear the toilet bowl flushing sound. With a bigger hole, it should get better. If you have a step drill bit or a nice set of bits, just go one size larger at a time til you find what works for you.

cool thanks......i have about 80 bits in the garage.....so ill keep drillin :)

im all the way to a 1/4 inch vent hole....does it really matter that i have 1" pipe on a 1" bulkhead?...it was fine for the longest time and now its started fluctuating...

I think the recommended size for the tube is one size larger than the bulkhead, so you might want to use 1.25" pvc and parts.

Also, how big is your return pump?

well i have the drain issues corrected......quieter than a sniper....now im having micro bubbles galore.....and its a mag 7 pump....au01st

Do you have any bubble traps before your return pump? If so, you can get a sponge and cut it to fit that section.

i have the bubble trap....just cut a piece of eggrate and slipped it in right after the bubble trap and that seems to have helped alot....i have a new pump coming in on monday so im assuming it comes with the foam....i could be wrong...another mag 7 since im borrowing this one from JDabs.....if it doesnt i know Greg has some of the foam made for danner pumps at optimum...
