Easy blade scraper

Anyone use these? Are they pretty good for scraping coralline? I probably should have asked before but I just ordered one to go one a magfloat 350. Do I have my hopes up for no reason. I have coralline growing on my glass faster than I can scrape it off. My regular magfloat wont get it off and my long handled cleaning pad won't get it off either. The only way I have been able to get it off is using a scrubby pad and doing it by hand, but even standing on a chair and reaching in all the way to my shoulder I still can't reach the bottom and it takes forever to get it off. I have the purple and the green coralline as well as some other kind that is brownish red and is speckled but is hard like coralline. Don't know what that is but it is also a PITA to get off!

I think I would get out of the hobby if I did not have mine J/k but I love them . Be careful with the silicone in the corners is all.

They work great. Do NOT leave the blade on there all the time. Remove and rinse it after use or it will rust very quickly.

If you meant me, thank you... but I already paid my "stupid tax" and bought a pack of blades for it.

$10.....Only have 1 or 2 blades left with it. Always would forget to take it out of the tank and wash off the blade.

Does coraline algae present any type of negative risk to the welfare of tank inhabitants? Even though the the back of my tank is black, I like the presence of coraline algae. I am also contemplating a bare bottom tank and would like it to grow there too. I don't have any trouble keeping the front and side glass free of it.

Thoughts?

Not at all. It's pretty beneficial to the tank and helps (in a small way) to keep other algae under control. My tank is completely covered in it except for the front panel. I read an article about bare bottom tanks where the tank was lined with star board (plastic used to make cutting boards) and the bottom was quickly covered in coraline.

Woo Hoo! That made cleaning the tank FUN compared to what I was doing. Not really a chore anymore.
