It will take 3 units, I'm saving everything I can for the skimmer and lights. The cost of 6 T5 bulbs for my 75g fixtures over the last 5 years would have almost paid for the LEDS (5x$150+=$750). Thanks, Holley

No problem! I think that should work well. I was surprised at how well it lit my cube up. I really want to see PAR readings for it.

Edit:

Did you upgrade your 90g since the last time I saw you? haha 6-8? Crazy.

Congrats on the new light. Tank looks very nice. I'm sure Ecotech will get heir software issues taken are of soon. Is there any option for a digital measurement of intensity with these lights, or is is the beeps you mentioned? There is a windows based program that you can set intensity levels with, right?

Thanks, Dave! I hope so.

In the software you can program 'X%' and adjust intensity, but right now the software is a bit glitchy so it is hard to program / visualize the intensity with the software.

Also, you would need it plugged in with the USB to see or change that percentage accurately (otherwise you can just hear it based on the little beeps, or clicks). It would be nice to have a little LCD display to view this information on.

I have no doubt that ecotech will update the software and everything will be great on it, it is just a little disappointing that these kinks are not worked out yet.

Update: About 3 days after posting this they did a software update and fixed that bug, everything is working perfectly.

I have had several types of SPS (thanks, Thai) in the tank now for about 3 weeks and I have to say.... I have seen considerable growth. I am horrible with memorizing names, but I have a few tri color, some aussie acans, red hornets, superman montipora, an aussie elegance coral, and a few more green sps.

I am very happy with the light and after seeing the growth first hand, I would highly recommend these fixtures. Mr Saltwater tank has been doing his experiment for over a month and has reported the same type of results.

Do you have before and after pics?

Nope, I need to figure out the right settings to shoot with on my camera to do it justice. Right now the light just washes out all the colors.

Anyone have any suggestions as far as aperture and shutter speed go?
