Been testing my MH lighting system (Sunlight Supply Lumenmax Elite pendant, 400w Radium 20k mogul base) that I also purchased the glass shield to avoid moisture. Is there a significant loss of light using glass lenses? Reason I ask is I ran it with and without the cover and while I couldn't detect a difference in light, the heat from the fixture was TREMENDOUSLY lowered using the lense. I had it just sitting over the floor and without the glass and 6" over the tile, it was pretty dang hot to touch. Put the shield on and my tile was just warm.
I know the additional heat gets absorbed by the pendant so I'm building a couple of fans into the canopy just for the light.
