Eheim Pump Maintenance?

So I decided to actually pull out my return pump today since I notice the intake had a good mess of algae on it. This is the first time I've pulled it out in almost 2 years! To my surprise, there is a sponge in the pump and man was it filthy!

I've rinsed it out real good and have the whole pump soaking in 50/50 hot water and vinegar. Aything else I need to do to it? Thanks again to whoever suggest I put a union on that bad boy...it was a snap to get out of the sump!

Nope, that should do it.

Make sure to run it in RO water after the soaking. That will help get any residue off of it then put it back in service.
