So I was staring down my tank tonight and I noticed some unusual movement on my elegance coral...flatworms. They look like the red planaria type. Is there a recommended dip for this coral that would take care of the flatworms? If it was any other coral, I'd just toss it in some freshwater really quick.....I just don't know if that's good for an elegance. Anyone with elegance corals run into this??

I know Flatworm exit will kill them. Suppose you could make up a small batch for dippin. Only problem is FWE is kinda pricey.

Give it a swirly in fresh RO water. That will knock them off in a few seconds.

Chances are they are elsewhere in the tank too though.

From what I can see, I don't see them anywhere else....yes I know that doesn't mean they are not. I honestly don't care, the red type isn't anything that concerns me. In fact, my 6 line does eat them like mad. I just noticed them on the elegance and my fuji leather. I did a fw dip on the leather, because I knew it could handle it. Just checking if the elegance could handle the fw dip because they are a little fragile. I've read people dipping, just wondering if anyone here has done this.

I had some on on of my corals a while ago, gave it an RO dip (20 times more came off than I could see before the dip). I was a little panicked about what to do next assuming they were all over my tank. I have yet to see any sign of them anywhere else.

I am still planning to add a Wrasse because I want one anyway, but it may be possible that they are only on that one coral (for now).

RO bath works great, BTW...

+1. Don't see any reason why you couldn't dip it in Flatworm exit. Of course using the recommended dosage.

Only drawback I see with that...doesn't flatworm exit take a bit of time to start working? Perhaps in a smaller environment the toxic levels would get too high for the coral? I've never used that stuff...nor would I. That's the only thing I could think of for that.

Within 60 seconds...they will all be dead and floating!
Since you are dipping, the coral will not be exposed to the toxin long enough to do any harm.
