Ok I've been using the elos test kits for a while now and have been having good results. When I do the test I use the lines on the viles to know I have the right amount of water. But when you test mag you have to use 3 ml instead of the 5 or 10 that is marked on the vile. If I use the syringe and pull up 5 ml it is always over the 5 mark on the vile. How do you get the right amount using the syringe? It seems like it is always high

I have boxes of several sizes of syringes...I'll bring you some to the next meeting. :D

Thanks bro, but I doubt I will be coming up for a few months.

I'm using the elos ones but what part of the plunger do you draw it too?

You should draw the syringe till the plunger hits the 5ml mark, not when the liquid hits the 5ml mark.

If you are drawing the syringe until the liquid hits the 5ml mark you are actually measuring out more than 5ml's.

so the top of the plunger instead of the bottom

Thanks for the info, geez this really does mean my mag is down to 950

It will really throw it off if you dont do it right, I was getting 1150 the other way

Syringes are calibrated to account for that slight amount of air when you first pull the plunger.

I'm gonna post some comparison pics right quick, hopefully it will help some others too. Gimme 10 mins and check back so I can make sure I am doing it correctly

No problem I understand and this has been a topic here recently that could use some clarifying. I actually made this mistake for quite sometime and though it made no difference in the test results, it is best to use the syringe as it is intended. So the proper way would be to:
never have the test water and black plunger touch each other by keeping an air gap between the water and the plunger and then measure the water level in the syringe and not worry about the plunger level.
Hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions.
*Somebody with photography skills can win a free test kit or something if they post some picks here so I can make it a sticky. *

Wow thanks Ralph that is just what I needed!!!!

Ok so no pics because Ralph helped a brother out, if you have any questions check the link he posted. I dont know why I didnt allow an air gap. I'm used to pulling up my b-12 and prescribed testosterone and you cant have air in that stuff. Thanks again ralph
