ok is anybody into these? never see them mentioned.
we have one and my g.friend loves him. lol she talks to him even.
if ya got one post up a pic so i can show them to her. ours is about 7in long, gold and blk.

I only know one person to ever have someand they grew pretty large. He got so tired of them tunneling under and collapsing his rocks that we got them out of the tank and took them to his lfs.

I have 2 in my 120 one is 11" he's a monster the other about 3" .They are some hard workers and will keep the sand stirred up .I will try get some pics at feeding thats about only time they come out from under rocks.

lol my tank was set up as a fowler at first. i put rock down then added the sand. ole bill ( named because hes as long as a dollar bill) cant collapse the rock. hes pretty cool and we are hoping he get huge.
ive added coral frags just collecting until i get my 45gal up and going.
after the 45 is up the 27 will belong to bill and i'll move my clown, humbug,
and the corals to the 45, and get ole bill a friend. :D

that would be cool, she will like that.

I have one about 6" and love him. You don't see him alot but his overnight endeavors are evident from the random sand piles:D Cool fish, but only if your rock is sitting on the bottom. Them seem to be a very "tamable" fish too, not afraid of hands in the tank at all.

yeah bill is always at work doing something different to his caves.
being very green when i set the tank up i intended to do a deep sand bed.
well i have it....... in some places. lol ole bill rearranges things nightly.
every other day i have to get in there and push his sand back in place.
hes very shy, wont come out in full length at all. i wonder if two of them would get along in a 27gal? i'll soon be finding out i think.
yes you have to have rocks placed on the bottom so they dont shift when he does his diggings. its a must.

I know Marine Desing has probably 10 of them together in maybe a 20 gallon (and have had them that was for a long whie) and they seem to get along great...almost like a schooling fish.

I prefer them to most sand-sifting gobies because unlike bullets/dragons/etc. they don't cropdust corals on the sandbed. They just dig around in the sand without making a total mess.

The speaker at the November meeting had them spawning in his huge tank.

I've kept several over the years - love them. If the tank is set up properly, their tunneling won't knock the rock over (rock on the bare glass). I love how when they swim backward, they seem to follow the exact same track as when the came forward.

Apparently they aren't a real goby - they are a genus unto themselves. They are also sold as "Convict Worm Blennies" (but they aren't a blenny either).

Great fish in the right environment - and yes they do fine in pairs or groups.

hey jenn

kirsten likes that too. if you watch one, when he comes out of his cave his tail is "rubbing the side. when he retreats, his tail feels along the same side going back in. almost like curb feelers. lol
