enough rock?

I wanted to run about 1 pound and a half to 2 pounds per gallon. I came across a great deal and picked up 212 pounds of Lr for 150 bucks. Since my tank in not fully cycled yet I scrubbed it with a brush then placed it how I wanted into the tank. Is this enough rock? My tank is 130 gallons but my full system is 180. I am going to pick up about 20 pounds for my refugium. But do I measure the amount I need for the entire system or do I go by just the display tank? Or is it more or less about The look

depends on what you are wanting to do..for me that might be a bit much but thats just my taste..not really sure why you scrubbed it tho..did it have hair algae on it?

1 to 1.5 lbs per gallon is just a rough guideline. IMO, you're good.

Some people like less some people like more.

What you have will be plenty for hosting beneficial bacteria

Sweet. I read somewhere to brush all of the dead material off of it because some of the creatures die during transit. I more or less just brushed it not really scrubbed. Just to remove any of the dead material.

You certainly didn't hurt anything by cleaning the rock off, but usually that's rock that is straight out I the ocean then into a box with wet newspaper that needs to be scrubbed.

Edit: Whatever is dead on the rocks that is left over after you scrubbed it will create ammonia to start the initial cycle in your new tank

Should be good to go. FWIW I started with 25-30lbs in my 29gal biocube but have removed some over time to get a better look. Too much won't hurt but it can make it crowded. Go for a scape that you like. Also keep in mind that porous rock will be lighter. Sometimes significantly lighter.

I think the way it's set up will be beautiful once I get it full of life. Right now it looks blan. But that will come over time. I want to add a couple more lights. I'm thinking actinic to give me a nice soft color. I like the way they look with my other lights

Looks good.

Make sure you really want to stack rock against a wall though. Especially a side wall. Plenty of people do it and have beautiful tanks but it can create very low flow areas.

My new power heads came in today. After I put them in I inspected ever nook and cranny especially the side because that where the rock meets the glass the most. I adjusted where I needed to. It seems to be flowing good now. However I can adjust as needed once coral gets growing. The rock is placed very close to the back of the tank but is actually about and inch from the back. Giving my the leeway to place my 300 gph wave maker behind the rock to ensure flow behind it. Does that sound like it would be efficient.... I just saw how other people have set there's up. I may end rearranging it before it's said and done. But would like to see what yall think about it. I'm open to rearrange since I don't have any live stock yet

Not to mention cleaning the glass is nearly impossible!

No my diy canopy needed to be adjusted. It was sitting lower on the tank on one side. I fixed that last night. But I don't like it really. I will be rebuilding it and staining it to match the stand I built for it. But no its not unlevel. I just had to readjust the canopy. Lol

Ok just making sure..lol

Here it is now that it's cleared up. After adding all the live sand and aragonite it got a little cloudy. Then I added the new powerheads and it didn't make the situation any better. But it's clear now. I've got it set up where the gaps in my light fixtures are over the spot with no rock on it and the spot with the one rock and the large "cavern" under it. Places where some "lowlight" specimens will be.

Is that the 212 lbs of rock? Seems a less than 212 lbs...
I have seen everything from 1 lb per 3-4 gallons to 3-4 lbs per gallon. Either way it's certainly enough and looks very good. Great job!
