Quote from Kevin Kohen:

"Could really use everyone's help on this one which is incredibly important to any of us that owns a reef aquarium. This proposed ESA listing could have a detrimental impact on all of us. I encourage everyone to please submit your comments no later than tomorrow evening. Thank you!"

I am 100% for the preservation of endangered species, I think this would be a great initiative if they would continue to allow the sale and trade of maricultured and or aquacultured corals. If anything these practices help the restoration, as many companies who do one or the other often contribute colonies to restoration efforts.

However, a complete ban is ludicrous.

I sent in mine yesterday, and it was a topic of discussion at the distributor open house I was at last night and today. I've seen similar bills like this come and go over the years, usually they fizzle, but one industry member I spoke with today seems to think this one has a real shot at it - and that's scary.
