Ever Found a Valuable Hitchhiker??

Has anyone picked up a coral or rock from a LFS, or individual, and eventually realized you got an unexpected nice surprise along with the piece you purchased?

Yes! Ive gotton a few Corals with Emerald crabs. I did buy a huge colony from a LFS with a cleaner shrimp

When I had my store, there was an Aussie Blasto head that somehow got stuck in a snail shipment. Its in my nano now!

Ha, perhaps I wasn't clear enough... The original My Miami chalice was found on a Jason Fox Frag or you found a My Miami hitchhiker on a Jason Fox Chalice you purchased.

Oh OK....the story goes that the My Miami was a hitchhiker on another coral Jason Fox owned. Didn't sound like it was on another frag, but probably on the same rock as a colony of some other coral Fox bought. Fox noticed it, grew it out, and the My Miami appeared. I heard that from either Victor or Lou, the guys that own WWC, either in a post on R2R or over the phone. Been a while.

I got about five ricordea and a small colony of psammacora on a piece of LR I bought back when Saltwater City was a sponsor.

I also got a six line wrasse as a hitchhiker in a rock, but that's a different scenario... ended up having to tear all of the rock out to get the little devil spawn out.

The psammacora was from SWC?
I thought from Freezerrat, on the rock I picked upp for you...?!

I had the same sixline, haha

You're right. Totally forgot about buying the second batch of rock. Now I remember that you pointed out the "what is that" glossy white spot at your old house.

I got a Regal Tang that was a hichiker in my Orange Monti colony.. I felt a little guilty for Jaustin losing it, so I paid him for it.. (that was a little over a year ago.. Tang and colony are doing GREAT)
