Just wanted to chime in on the low nutrients thing. I'm personally starting to have doubts about this "goal". In case you didn't catch it, Mike Paletta did an article on R2R in which he listed the parameters of the tanks for some of the biggest names in reefing (along with pics). I think you'll find the article interesting. Obviously spectacular tanks with medium to even high nutrients. I'm not sure any of these qualify as running ULNS. I think ULNS works well with zeovit because of the constant feeding. Without a consistent transient nutrient flow I'm beginning to have my doubts about the ULNS trend that's come about.

I completely agree. I personally don't want my reef balancing on the point of starvation. My sps has done nothing but grow and color up since only checking alkalinity and nitrates( making sure I had 3+).
