Experience at a LFS.....

Hackman and Eric I will gladly hold a meeting in one of my banquet rooms if there is ever a need for one here free of charge. We did once again win best steak in Lowndes Co and in the South again. And yes ARC members get a big juicy discount at the restaurant for travelling this far.
I would like to have a cookout the night before next year's MACNA being Valdosta is a good halfway point between Atlanta and Orlando. I can get half off on rooms at the Comfort (about to be Clarion) and a few members can crash at my place.
Sorry to hijack the thread, but more to came about the macna cookout later.....bring the pain and support your locals!

Since we are pretty much committed to the MACNA Orlando experience, this would be a great idea for a stopover.

To keep on track.
Daren, I understand your frustration 100%. Most stores in the Atlanta area are pretty customer friendly but there are some......
And
Ditto, Athens.

I had a similar experience earlier this year. I went into the store looking for some particular fish, actually found them, and there was no one around to help me. The store was quite busy so I have a little compassion, and I will be back, but I was on a tight schedule and thought 30min would give me plenty of time to stop in and get what I wanted, and instead just left frustrated.

On a positive note, I just did a whirlwind tour of five sponsor LFS today and I am happy to say that everyone of them greeted me and asked if they could help me. So, although we can all have bad experiences in an individual LFS, my experince with our sponsors today was excellent. Great job folks!

Ansley and I did a two-store tour today... good CS on both ends. Atlanta Reef was a positive experience (plus we got to see the pool hall next door get raided, with all of the patrons being patted down, spread-eagled against the windows ).

The other store... well, livestock conditions were iffy, and worst of all we heard some HORRIBLE advice given to a customer in order to sell a fish.

Like Darren, I won't name the store, but I sincerely hope they get squared away.

I would PM the Owner since they are an LFS. They may not realize what they are doing wrong if no one tells them they wont correct. I am not saying they should know what they are doing wrond but in this business it seems that anyone that has a couple of dollars thinks they can make millions and opens up a store just because they know enough to get by in the saltwater world. Some of those people really do know what they are doing just dont have much of a presonal relationship and really needs to realize that they need to establish it. I had this same type of experience a couple of times at the Fish Garden in Newnan and finally the third tiime I said something to the associate that he needs to ackowledge people in some form. So he started to ackowledge me when I went in there then one day I picked up some blue legs and asked him if they were 2.99 or 1.99 and he said 2.99 and I bought a few. Later that day I went back for something I forgot and he sold someone else them for 1.99 and had them labeled on the tank for 1.99. Neatless to say I wont spend money their ever again.

To clarify, when I said "Good CS on both ends" I was speaking of being greeted and asked if we needed help, etc.

The poor advice we heard given at store #2 came later in the visit.

Atlanta Reef was a good visit all around... Allan was friendly, helpful and had some good stuff (which included a very nice ARC discount). He also threw me a freebie frag of some nice zoas when I finished my purchases.

no need to worry about your experience.. the company won't be around long if that's how they treat their customers...
