I have some expired test kits, they expired in the last 4-6 months. When they are expired how much of an impact does it have on the results? Right now I just don't have the money to go out and buy new kits.

I would appreciate feedback as to whether I can use them or not.

Thank you in advance,
Denise

I will caviat this by saying "the were stored in a cool and dry place caped tightly" I have tested some expired kits aginst new ones and got the same reeding. I would use them until $ gets better then replace. Something is better thanl nothing...

and I would add...out of the light, especially sunlight. Otherwise, I agree.

Just check the tests out, if in doubt. Ideally, compare them to a known good one.

Also, companies use expiration dates for a variety of reasons.
1) of course, is that the chemicals involved may become unstable or degrade.
2) and it's a big one, LIABILITY.
3)the need to generate NEW sales.

In summary, by saying the product goes bad, they cover all 3 of the above.

I appreciate the feedback. I think I will run the tests and then bring my water to a store to test.
