So I've reached out to a few local metal workers and haven't heard back from any of them...

Does anyone here know of a local company or person who can make a standard extruded t-slot aluminum stand? Preferably either black powder coated or corrosion proof? I don't wanna pay extremely high shipping costs and want to upgrade my frag tank stand. Would rather take care of this sooner than later. Just looking for your suggestions!

If you buy the profiles from the 80/20 garage on ebay the prices aren't that bad. You can use joining hardware from other companies and put the thing together your self in the living room. The whole point of tslot Al is you can do it without a fabricator!

Honestly I don’t know what I would need for connectors.

Try https://www.framexpert.com/solutions/racks_and_cabinets/fish_tank_aquarium_stand/
To design your stand yourself.
Or framingtech already has standard stands designed and they do a good job. Another company is fandl8020 who also has stands predesigned. Crystal dynamics makes premium aluminum stands. TidalGardens has a few videos going over the company that fabricated their stands. They used two different vendors.

So much great help here! Thanks everybody for being awesome!

Ya @Shawn T-slots are really easy to work with. Nothing to feel overwhelmed with. I got a bunch from McMasterCarr for work, and there are all sorts of connector choices. But looks like everyone else has you covered! Still, I’m here if I can help

I'll have to find the name of the company I used for my light rack 5yrs ago. Like 80/20 but less expensive. I sent them a sketch of what I wanted with measurements and they sent me all the pieces and connectors in one package.

Don't forget to post this if you can find it, I'd like to know as well. The AI light rack kit is terrible

I'm assuming this is Greg? I'd love to get a quote from you for a fully done stand. I was the guy there Saturday buying $500 in gift certificates from you (and helping with your printer :p)

Let me know if they have a good price as I am looking for a 48x20 stand.

framingtech.com is who I use. They will design based on the lwh you give them, and do a structural analysis for you, let you know flex, etc. that is free. It is costly, but I know it was done right.

I am just finishing my 3rd stand with 80/20. It is very easy to do. They are very precise when cutting the lengths. I recommend doing it yourself. If you need help let me know.
