ok... I have a small squirrel cage fan that would be AWESOME to work into my system, but its ALL ON or nothing and let me tell you... it will blow the water out of the tank haha...

how can I dial this thing back ?

is there a way to do it with my new Apex?

Yup. Program it as a heater. On at one temp off at another.

no no.. I want it to act as a rheostat basically.. so that the fan doesn't come on all at once.

No, the Apex won't ramp up or ramp down the fan.

That's what I meant I wa editing my post when I got busy.

The motor on the fan is not suitable for reduced speed either. It would burn up.

You could run it full speed and using a damper reduce the amount of intake air starving it. But, the fan would be noisy and you may get a whistle as the air travels thru the restriction.
