so ive had my favia and chalice farely close to one another for a few months...just a regular green favia colony and a chalice(not sure what the name or anything about it)...green rim, purple body, bright orange eyes....well anyway...the favia is down flow wise from the chalice so considering favia are usually the aggressor in these battles....figured it was fine....woke up this morning to see the chalice with 3 sweepers stuck to the favia and this large necrotized place on my favia....i separated them and told id turn this car around if they didnt play nice from now on....now i guess ill just have to see if the chalice still doesnt wanna be friends...

You can have stuff grow next to each other for months, then bam someone digests a part of someone else. I've had it happen numerous times in my chalice tank.

IME the chalice will always win. one of mine took out a large peice of cyphastrea pretty quickly....granted the chalice fell face down onto it and stayed there overnight..the cyphastrea did fully recover though

Be careful with acan echinatas around chalices, particularly Tyree Agent Orange or Orange Crush. Those boys are mean. I had Agent Orange eat about $500 worth of PPE chalice last year!

I've never even seen the sweepers on the chalice come out....but it was giving the favia hell last night apparently....and Justin....there's nothing very special about it....it's not LE or anything....I'd actually rather sell it just because I'll be selling everything in the next month or so since I'll be moving to USVI....

heres the culprit.....cant really see the green rim from the way its growing.....and the purple body doesnt show up as well under daylights.....but it has 10 or 11 bright orange mouths/eyes

I was going to say that.... Those guys seemingly win against most combatants...
