Feeding Chalice

I have a few chalice but I never feed them directly. I was just reading on a reef site and this one person had a unique way of feeding. The way I read, and interpruted, the post was that they pull the chalice from the tank and put in a bucket of the same water they had gotten from the current water change. They then put mysis and lps pellets in the bucket with them to feed on.

This grabbed my attention since my tank is so deep, it's hard to spot feed. What are some ways ya'll feed your chalice?

I've seen some cut the upper third off of a coke bottle and attach it to a piece of PVC pipe, cover the coral with the bottle, and send food down the pipe. This makes sure the food doesn't get blown away in the current, and it keeps crabs and other inhabitants from stealing the food.

Guess I'm just curious if they will change color and or be more "fluffy", for lack of a better word.

Edit:

not a bad idea. I just wonder that if I do this in the day time will they start feeding when they sense it or do I have to wait till lights out.

I kill all the flow in my tank and then feed coral frenzy directly with a 60ml syringe, for my chalice, I give it a little taste and then start feeding everything else in the tank. By the time I get back to him (2 minutesish) he's opening wide. Then I squirt right in. I leave the flow off for about 5 minutes after I'm done and then I turn everything back on

If you feed well after lights out you don't have to worry about other inhabitants stealing the food and the feeder tentacles are already out to aid in feeding.

i use the bucket feed method 2 times a month i use a 5 gal bucket with a 10wat heater 1 cube of pc myis 1tsp oyster eggs and 1ml per gal amino acid i leave corals in 15 to 20 min makes my lps more vibrent and dont half to wory about algi blooms from dosing amino acids to display
