I have always done old school. Feeding rotifers phytoplankton. But extremely tired of spliting and growing cultures. Has anybody used algae paste? Any tips?

Glenn, I have no experience with clown breeding. I finally found a link that I read some time back that may be related to your question. Look at reply 9 here: http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=93559">http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=93559</a>. You can PM bobz for more info. If you are already aware of this post, disregard this post.

I have been thinking about captive breeding; it may be in future plans someday.

PS It's the 2nd link in the reply 9.

Glenn try RG Complete. It has a long shelf like and has worked very well for me. I keep two 5 gallon buckets loaded with rotifers and only add 5ml of RG Complete every other day to each bucket. The 32oz will last me 4-6 months.

Glen,
I had good luck feeding the algae paste as well. I quickly gave up on phyto!

Hey Glen,

I read up on the RG Complete algae paste a wile back and have been temped. I really like the the idea of the ammonia neutralizer ( ClorAm-x) that they add. I believe that picoreef ( Brijesh) has been using it for copepods for some smaller fish, shoot him a pm.

These guys had some as well:

If you think that you may get some either source, let me know I wouldn't mind spitting some.

Knowing feeding amount really helps. So I know how much to buy.

yea i kept a culture of tigger pods for a few months with rg complete it was a very small culture as i was only feeding one tiny fish. i only gave it about 1 ml every other day and that may have been over doing it cause the culture container was only about a quart. but that stuff is so concentrated that even using it for almost 3 months the bottle still looks full.
