Few ?'s before my upgrade

I getting ready to upgrade from my 65 to a 90. I just finished installing a full width coast to coast overflow on the 90 and I'm trying to decide on a pump. I am currently running a mag7 on the 65. Not knocking the mag pumps, they work but i know there are better options. I am even tossing around the idea of running external. The will be either 3/4" or 1".

I am leaning toward external to get the heat out of the tank.

Looking for opinions and suggestions.

I'm a huge fan of the Marineland Maxi Jet pumps. Pricey, but quiet and very efficient.
