Filter sock

My filter socks get nasty after a week. Is it ok to soak it in bleach?

I have three wash in the washing machine with only bleach. The soak in decloranate just to be sure.

Thanks John, I soaked and then thought about it and was scared to put it back in my tank

i wash mine once with bleach in washing machine. then once more with water only. air dry, rinse with rodi and reuse. no problems so far

Bleach and washing detergent in the machine with an extra rinse cycle. Air dry. Not the first problem in over a year.

I use bleach only with an extra rinse cycle: then air dry. No problems thus far. However, I believe the socks become clogged quicker than they did initially, so I may try the HP soak.

Your welcome, just remember don't put it in your tank if you can smell bleach
