Filter socks,should I or shouldn't I?????

# of microns as either 'nominal' or 'absolute'

That would make a huge difference in expected performance/side-by-side comparisons.

I'm not sure how the micron rating is used here. That might be a call to the sales dept.

What is good is that these are so easy to use it is hardly a chore to clean them out every three days since all you do is turn them inside out, clean with a spray from the garden hose and place back in the sump.

36 inch? wow...sounds like you could wear those! What on earth do you use a 36 inch long filter sock for?

Quick! MOJO delete this thread, before jmaneyapanda reads it, or he might order the lot! -lol

From work they have to filter water from the plant so I bought some they are new and work really good

I know they also use these type socks in biodiesel production, I assume to get out organic debris.

OK,so could you use a 36" without cutting it off? If you let the sock lay in the water and let the water run through the whole thing, you might not have to clean it as much???IDK

I wouldn't bother. The only way you could effectively use one of those would be to cut it up into smaller lengths and stitch the ends closed.

The mesh socks from filterbag.com are only like $3 each.
