I have a 125 gallon FOWLR with an emperor angelfish, powder blue tang, yellow tang, and blue tang, all juveniles. I run a skimmer that is for a 300 gallon tank that is being fed by a 1050 gph pump. With this large of a skimmer, do I need the filtration sock or can I just vacuum the debris out of the sump and let the skimmer take care of the rest? Thanks!

The filter sock will help remove nasties out of the water, and polish the water for a nice clear/clean water. Your skimmer will still capture skim mate, but you will want a filter to catch bigger debris like left over food that makes it into the overflow. Skimmers weren't really designed for big debris.

I love my filter socks! I run 3 different kinds depending on what I'm trying to accomplish. I run poly mesh 200 micron for everyday filtering. I run poly 100 micron for when I'm cleaning and want to catch even more crude. I run 100 micron felt when I want to polish the water and make it all nice and clean. I can change 4 socks out in about 5 minutes or less.

Edit: hmmm... try this again.
