Saw this yesterday afternoon and thought the worst. Ran and got the camera and decided that maybe the Fire Shrimp had molted and this was his old carapace. Thankfully, I saw the Fire Shrimp later on. Never saw a BTA eat a shrimp molt before.

Mine does it all the time when a shrimp molts....assuming the molting is taking place close to the RBTA

Mine does this too! I always do a double-take just to make sure it's the moult and not the body! :)

Yep! I thought the same thing when I read the title!!!

I thought: "Oh no! A new predator to anemones!!!" :confused2:

Turns out all is well afterall. :D

I think the shell just floats around and the bta is sticky enough to catch it and then eats it. Dunno though, I've seen pieces on mine but not the whole thing. Guess my btas are to small.

maybe it shouldve been fire shrimp-eating bta..i thought the same thing lol...was like **** thats a brave shrimp

man-eating shark
shark-eating man etc etc :)
