found this online and i cant tell what kind of worm it is but id hate to have it in my tank.

Bobbit Worm. Its like a Fireworm on PCP.

wow, that's crazy. the fish didn't even struggle. does it have some sort of paralyzing bite?

Just a crazy set of pincers. I had pulled one out of a tank that just over 4' about 5 years ago. I had also ran into one about 10 years ago buying live rock over the internet (back when you could find the good stuff easily). Talk about freaking out when this giant worm came thrashing out of a 30lb rock.

yup good ol bobbit worm, been trying to find one of these guys for my own morbid curiosity. seems like they all get ripped up during extraction though.

im glad ive never encountered one im sure that thing could put a hurting on some fingers

not sure how true it is, but some of the reading i have done says the bristles they have carry a nerve damaging toxin. and those nasty little meat hooks they have for mouths...sometimes when they strike they will snap the prey item clean in half.
