I've really enjoyed browsing through all the progression tank shots on the forums. Here are some photos of my new 20g nano. A big thank you goes out to Jimmie and crew at Classic City Aquariums (Athens GA) for helping me ease into saltwater despite my fears!

Shout out to Mom2Many for all those amazing 20's. I really hope I can get mine to look like that one day.

Very nice tank! I will enjoy watching the progression of your tank. I love nanos. :) And thank you for the complement by the way. Very humbling.

Are you feeding your blenny pods or is he eating frozen or pellets? I have heard you can get them eating frozen/pellets with time.

@Mom2Many - So far I'm in love with nanos as well. The big tanks are beautiful to watch but I'm super intimidated by the amount of equipment and maintenance that goes into one. Not to mention money considering this has very rapidly become my 2nd most expensive hobby and will likely be in 1st place soon if I don't stop coveting coral ;p (For which my husband might murder me in my sleep :D)

My LFS (Classic City Aquariums) is actually really wonderful, they won't even sell Gobies such as Mandarin until they are eating frozen or pellet food. I feed him frozen enriched brine since his mouth is super tiny. The hardest thing is keeping my fire shrimp occupied long enough for anything else to eat. He's such a bully!

I honestly can't say enough nice things about Jimmie and crew at Classic City, it's the little things like this that let you know they're not just there to sell you things, they really care about the hobby and aren't afraid to tell you no if something will die/do poorly in your tank. If any of you are ever near Athens/Watkinsville it is -absolutely- worth dropping in to see them.

I feel the same. My hats go off to those who maintain and have such large and lovely tanks. I would be in so much financial trouble if I had all that realastate at my disposal for frags! My life is very intense and busy, so nanos suit the time I can devote and money invested. I enjoy this hobby so much. It is one of the few things I can do to really unwind and relax a bit and still be home.

I have always wanted a blenny or mandarin but was nervous about feeding it. Yours is a cutie!

The elusive blue porcelain crab makes a rare appearance!

I'll tell Ping you said so, hopefully it doesn't go to his head. He's already a bit of a show-off since he likes to climb the rock arch and free fall off. Check with your LFS and see what their practices are with blennies/mandarin. If they are willing to show you that it eats prepared food, you'll be fine. If not, I'd be the same way. Too afraid it would starve to death without a huge copepod population.

@adamdaniel210 That RBTA I got yesterday has done more traveling overnight than American Airlines. Now he has chosen to wedge himself in the deepest, darkest cave possible underneath my arch. Since he chose that spot while all lights were out overnight, will he eventually come out seeking light or should I try to manually get him out? I don't want to stress him while he acclimates.

He will move around for a while on his own.

A few updates:

My lucky streak on hitchhikers ran out, sadly. Caught both without breaking them, sure hope there was only one of each *shudder*.

I started out swearing that I would be responsible and do absolutely 0 impulse buying but... then I found this guy on sale for 25% off and caved hard *sigh*. Now my life will be all about dosing calcium. I brought this on myself. It was too beautiful to pass up and he's been super happy thus far so fingers crossed. I'll be sad when he out grows the tank and I have to trade. (assuming I don't lose him to noobishness of course)

Came across this really interesting piece of lavender GSP already on it's own little island. Couldn't resist, heh.

In other news, my clowns have decided to take turns sleeping in the scrapper bed.

Everything seems to be comming along nicely! Lots of new additions. I love buying new frags and GSP on thier own island is the way to go. I love thier movement but boy can they grow everywhere. Clowns host the silliest things some times. Very cute!
