Here us a cheap DIY way to acclimate fish! It should be self explanatory.

Now.. thinking of putting a small air stone in there or a lil pump on a timer that comes on every once and a while for 02

Edit:

thanks.. very simple...

if it works well I'll try to make a more "solid" version haha

are the 3 chambers for diff fish? Why the piece of LR in there. I like it very cool setup. I like the drain on it, thats what I always forget

Ya the 3 areas are for different fish.

The LR will be taken out and be replaced with short pieces of 2" PVC pipe so they can hide to hopefully reduce stress.

they sell them at http://www.buckeyefieldsupply.com">www.buckeyefieldsupply.com</a>

Its the same kind of valve that controls how much waste water exits my RODI system.

Just adjust it to a few drops per second and you're set :)

Very nice!

Keeping the fish calm during acclimation as well as having an overflow drain. :D

I'm not sure what you want me to explain. but... its a fitting that has an in and an out for 1/4" hard flexible tubing.

On the top is a screw that dictates how much water goes though the fitting... so you can either open it all the way up or close it to make for a slow drip... like I was using it for.

the waste to good water ratio is about 5:1. This is how you control how much waste water exits your system. In my particular setup my good water would be contaminated if I didn't use it.

I have never had a control valve on my waste water of any of my RODI's nor have I ever seen any on any of the RODI's I've seen at friends houses, LFS, or online. Waste water is just that, waste water. If you restrict it more than recommended by the manufacturer, all you doing is putting what should be waste water back in your clean water. If not, why have waste water at all, just cut the valve completely off and have straight RODI water. Now that would be great if we could do it. :) What should come out as waste water should be left to come out as waste water and not be allowed to enter as good water or we don't need waste water at all. Even a little bid by closing the valve a small amount, its still a small amount.

Not trying to be a butt, but you need to do some research on RODI operation.

No problem. Maybe I do need more information. I'm just saying I've never seen it and this is the first time I've heard of it. To me, it just doesn't make sense to slow down something that is waste and put it back in the good water. I didn't mean to step on anyone's toes and I will do some research on this and maybe I'll understand it. :) Thanks for your input.

I have a flow restriction that I got when I upgraded to a 75gpd RO membrane but that is all I have on my waste line of my RODI unit. Which is why I want to know what he is using it for. Should not be needed unless he is getting better result by having it on there and producing less waste and more good water.
