i have tangs and big angels they have been loosing color i been feeding them green algae and a homemade mix of shrimp scallops octopus clams fish meat saturated with vitachem vitamins and spectrum thera a everyday..my tangs look good but my imperator at times look like he is loosing color..any recommendations? anyone had any luck with keeping big angels colored up?

Dude your fish eats better than most of us. Have you tried flake/pellets with higher fat contents?

Spectrum is horrid ( this was MY OWN experience), my fish were never happy eating it and their excitement showed during feeding time. I use the oceans nutriention and mixed the blue and green containers. Theirs a koi feed that i am currently trying as well. I feed frozen as a treat weekly, as well as live black worms.

so than you mix formula one and formula two from ocean nutritian and get good color from your fish?

I have a three day rotation I follow. Frozen #1 day 1, Frozen #2 on day two, New Life Spectrum Marine Formula on day three. My fish seem to love all three equally and all have what I think is great color.

Have you tried the ocean nutrition frozen diet for Angels? It is supposed to have sponge in it, which they do eat in the wild. Throw hikari marine a into the mix as well.

What size tank are all these large fish in? Could this be a manifestation of crowding or water quality?
