my gf likes butterfly fish....i like angels.

do they get along???

i wouldn't mind having some specie of dwarf angel, and then maybe a blue tang until it outgrows my tank then i'd have to just give it away. and then a racoon butterfly (wait that's not reef safe is it?) or reef safe butterfly of her choice.

i already have two black false perc's. then i want a midas, and a six-line or other small wrasse.

any comments or suggestions??

this is going in a solana.

Some dwarf angels will be okay in a solana, can't think of any butterflies that would be okay in a tank that small. Please do not put a tang in there; even though the fish may look like it fits, you can stunt the growth or stress them out. What does she like about the butterflies? The color? You may be able to find a dwarf angel that she likes as well. Keep in mind, dwarfs may nip at LPS like acans or they may take a liking to your clam's mantle.

Any of the Centropyge angels are a risk. Some more so than others.

The pygmy angels are the smallest of the Centropyge - individual behaviors may vary but the Atlantic Pygmy, and Flameback and Pacific Pygmies are good choices, but they may or may not nip corals. We have a Flameback and he's a model citizen.

I wouldn't suggest a butterfly - some are more risky than others but most will get too big for the tank.
