Wanted to bounce this off the peanut gallery. I'm thinking of installing some vinyl 4" base mold and caulking it in the seams and too the floor in case there's ever a disaster. This room would hold about 50% of my tank volume at 4" high.
I was thinking of using this cove base rail...

Anyone have any other suggestions/comments?
The only issue I see is the doorway in which I was going to put a 2" tall threshhold or so. Also doesn't stop a leak if it starts on the front side of the tank, but covers the back and any piping breaks etc.

I did something similar, but it hasn't gotten tested. I used a PVC trim, (outdoors section of HD or LOW). I then used marine caulk to seal it. I have the same issue with the doorway, but my threshold is a little taller.

I tried that in a bathroom. Don't expect it to actually be water tight. It'll definitely slow it down though. If you can add a drain in the middle of the floor, which is hopefully the low point it would be much better

We did this in the shop, many years ago. Worked like a charm - except the spot where we couldn't caulk because the counter was in the way... and the water seeped through there :)

So yeah - it works, and it works well.
