fish waste collecting in the back of the tank, power head issues? Need advice

I would actually move the power heads to the side of the tank, toward the front, and facing toward the LR. that way the corals get flow and it will create flow in the back of the LR.

Change the directions a little, that should help

You could also try a nano powerhead pointing behind the rock work to kick it back into the water column.

you could just add a maxi or something like that behind some rock on one side or the other and just have it pointed straight across the back. Keen reefs display had two modded maxis pointed straight down to the center kinda cool once the sand settles...

I personally think the HOB skimmer might be the culprit, it might be kind of small for a 55 gallon

Looks like a coralife ss 65, definitly to small, add a sump and run a reef octopus or similar skimmer, good skimmer for money. If you need one, I have an overflow box good for 65 gallons

+ 1 on moving the powerheads to the side of the tank and/or adding a nano to shoot behind the LR. Using a nano is what I did in my tank.

I don't think I'll be upgrading to a sump since I wanna get a 120 gallon one of these days. I moved the powerheads to the side and it's fixed the problem. Thank u all on ur advice
