Some one has given me 4 fish. (not picked up yet) 1 clown, 1 damsel, 1 coral angle beauty, and 1 unknown (right now I have not see it) They have been in the tank for 2+ years is what I was told. I am going to set up a QT for them. What should I put in the water to treat them with? Or should I treat them? He says they are not sick. If there are no symptoms should I just keep them in QT for a few days/week?

Thanks Bruce

I wouldn't treat them. QT would be wise, but there's no sense taking medicine if you aren't sick (same applies for the fish).

I'd rethink the damsel though - once it's in you will have a hard time getting it out and they are mean fish.

I may give it away also. I have not seen these fish other than a photo.

Thank you Jen.

Jenn is right. I would only QT them and only treat them if the exhibit some signs of sickness. Let them hang out there for a couple of weeks then move them to your display tank. I would also dump the damsel depending on what it is. If it's a blue, a yellow tail, a 4-stripe or a black spot.....get rid of it. Some of the others aren't as bad and can be pretty good tank mates.

Thank you Jen.

if you are looking to give it away i have a tank that he would do great in

I have one yellow tail that someone gave me and he isn't mean to the other fish. Granted, other than the male clown and a yellow watchman he is the smallest in the tank, but he seems to just kind of hang to himself most of the time. Definitely not scared to take his part to get some food, but beyond that he seems OK. Not my favorite fish, but he is colorful.
