flow opinion

Alright, so I finally have all my coral mounted where I want, and everything set up on the elos 70. Tank dimensions: 30L x 20H x 22W

I have an eheim return pump that is powerful (I keep it on about 75% so that it doesn't blow sand in the front of the tank). I also have an mp10 that was on the back wall on about 50% (any more and it would blow sand).

The problem with the mp10 on the back wall is unless corals are getting direct flow (within 6 inches width of the mp10), the rest of the corals on the right side don't really get much flow.

So my question is....

do I upgrade to an mp40 and put that on the left side of the tank, to go directly against the return flow on the right side like this...

or do I get 2 mp10's to put on the back wall and dial it down to 50% on each?

Take what I say as a grain of salt since I have many problems with my tank. But I vote one more mp10. Your return was pretty strong and I would like having more placement options with two smaller pumps then one bigger one. I have two 40's in my 90 and want two more 10's for the back. I also think that 10 belongs on your old tank so if you sell it give me dibs!

I would much rather have a larger number of small water movers than a couple big ones.

In my 72 had similar problem. I added a second mp10, return on left ,1 mp10 on back running constant 30 %and the one across from the return reef crest 60%. Im happy with the flow thus far.

How far from the top of the water is your mp10? I have mine full blast in a 24" high tank, and it doesn't disturb the sand at all.
