Fluval Edge 6g Black - $36.98 @ Petco

I ordered these yesterday, one for each side of the "light bar"

Also ecoxotic has these nano pico strips that you can mount in there somehow, different colors and you can run 4 on a power supply with an adapter. I'm only worried they're a little too long and the last led will be over the filtration piece. Price is decent too.

Saltwater enthusiast: I don't really need another tank but since those Fluval Edges are a great deal at $36.98 I'm gonna buy one. Hrrmm now lets see, the $329.95 light will fit just right!:yay:[/QUOTE]
I'll buy that light one day just so I can brag that I spent 10 times more on the light than on the tank :)

I was considering building my own kit from Rapid LED, or at least use it for a model. Maybe 1 watt led's instead of 3!

How/what type of power supply do you use with that?

I needed something that is plug n play...

I don't want to be responsible for burning the office down.

Does that give an idea of how confident I am in my electrical wiring skills?

They run at 12v so I can tap into the original PS or use another generic 12v one for separate blue and white. Not plug and play but not that hard to retrofit. I'll send you pics once I do it.

I received my LED bulbs, and coated the LEDs in fingernail polish to seal them..... Was I just supposed to cover the leads or the whole top face of the bulb?

I think the metal contacts are the important part but I sprayed a clear coat over everything. It will smell for a few hours when you plug them in

Thanks, I'll make certain I stay late the first night to break in the bulbs.

My blue LEDs arrive today or Monday... I'm very excited about that!

We should start a thread in the nano reefs forums for these little tanks. I want to see what others are doing.

Anyone know if they're still offering them at this price? Online price is 99

My local PetCo sold out that day (they had 3, not sure who got the other 2!) and don't appear to be re-stocking them.

My wife has taken over the Fluval, and it is now a freshwater tank in our kitchen. I'll take a picture or two tonight and post it.

I may be selling mine.. I had it set up for about 2 weeks and it was nice but i wasn't feeling it. My gf wants to keep it but we will see how long that last.

I am about to get rid of my 75g and would possibly be interested in yours if you do decide to sell it.

Had one setup for a while as well, not really ideal for cleaning/setting up and takes forever to net stuff out.

Cool, I'll probably go by the office today to get mine started too. I'm getting hell for having an empty tank in there for that long.

I got this cool idea last night to put a bunch of macro algae in the fluval. Would work great to keep the water in check plus the LED bulbs should be enough to support them. So I'm shopping for macro algae this weekend.
