Frag teaching

Sooooo....I've bought a few people out of their livestock in order to populate my 92 corner reef. It's looking pretty good except I'm seriously running out of room for additions. There are some fantastic zoa's growing in this tank. Unfortunately for me, I have no idea which ones they are other than there are some that are all blue and some that are flame red, some that are orange, some pink...etc. I've heard that some of these are really expensive per polyp and in some cases...I've got close to 50+ of each color. I'd like to find somebody that is willing to teach me how to frag these off so I can share . I've got glue and or epoxy. All I need to do is purchase some plugs and we should be a go. Anybody in a teaching mood?

All you have to do is take a razor or somthing flat with a straight edge and scrape them off. Then glue them to a rock or frag plug. Make sure to wear some sort of eye protection because if the paly toxin squrts you some people have bad reactions.

I would be happy to come up and show you what I know and would be willing to let you burn a copy of fragging from GARF (for what it is worth). I would recommend getting glue from the dollar store or equivilant. The gel works ok but I perfer just regular super glue. I would also recommend making some kind of frag rack prior to starting to cut them both for assembly and in the tank. Lots of people make them with eggrate from HD lowe's or similar. PM if there is anything you need or you would like me to come up I am free on Sunday. +1 on the comment on toxic, make sure when cutting not to eat, smoke, wipe yer nose etc. If you get a mettalic taste in yer mouth call a doctor.

The only 3 meetings I'd have a realistic shot at making would be Dec., Jan., and Feb. I guess that's the meeting that draws the most attendence.

I bought Anthony Calfo's book, "The Book of Coral Propogation." It's a little deeper version of Bob Fenner's book. About half of the book is fragging corals. But it also has info on coral farming, filtration, etc. etc. It's a pretty good read.

I'm keeping it as a reference. I bought it several years ago online. I paid around $70 for it but it was hardback. It's probably printed in softbound and cheaper now. I'm sure B&N could order it for you if they don't stock it. Check for an online deal first though.

does it cover all the basics? easy to read? does it cover equiptment need to a good frag tank too?

Might also check eBay for a copy. I've found many books there really really cheap!

Dawg....I'm about a mile from the Saddlebrook Kroger....know where Chattahoochie High School is? I'm about 2/10 of mile from it.
