So a friend of mine gave up, due to his busy schedule and moving, and gave me his 29g system around 2 years ago. It came with a rock that had a blueish Fungia attached to it. A few months after that I upgraded. In the process I broke the Fungia off the rock, but it was a clean break resulting in a perfect, unattached Fungia and the remaining "foot" where the coral broke off. Over the next couple weeks I started to notice some color on the foot that still remained on the live rock. Sure enough, the foot turned into a new Fungia before I knew it.
Here we are around a year and a half later, and I decided to go for an intentional fragging of the Fungia. It was extremely easy and took much less force than I expected to pop the plate off...and now the process has started again .
The last picture is of the original Fungia. Its about 3-4 times the size of the freshly unattached plate
Just thought you guys would enjoy
