Hello everyone,
how do you frag polyp coral? I read one report that said not to do it just to let them grow from one rock to another. any suggestions? thanks Mike:fish:

this would be the palythoas. Can you take a razor blade an slice the off at the base and put them in a rubble tray? thanks mike

You shouldn't cut them, you can almost pry them off the rocks. Careful some have some nasty chemicals released when fragging. Typically they spread fairly quickly and you may want to think twice before moving them all over your tank.

id let them just keep growing, but if u want to frag, use some dikes or something and chip frags off the rock

thanks everyone...i had heard about the nasty chemicals they could release. mike

Go to U-tube and type in Fragging zoas or corasls . It will have several steps on how to do this and also show how to dip after and glue, etc.
Use eye protection and gloves for sure while fragging.
Good luck
