I was told a few yrs ago that once a tank has been used for reptiles, it can no longer be used as a saltwater tank? Something about bacteria in the silicone? Is this true?

Never heard this. I cant think of any reason that you could not convert a reptile enclosure into a saltwater tank AS LONG AS THE TANK IN QUESTION WAS DESIGNED TO BE AN AQUARIUM.

That makes no sense to me either. As long as the tank was built to hold water, and has never been cleaned with soap (which may be the real issue), you should be ok.

lol, And this whole time I thought this was true:doh: Now I need to find someone who wants an amazon tree boa.

Garden phase, grey w/ brown attitude is kinda nasty Was thinkin like $75 ? Not sure on the price

My SW tank right now used to be a chinese water dragon tank...as long as you clean and vacuum your tank pretty good, it should be fine.
