In the sump Fish Scales 2 made for me I have a nice slow flow fuge built in (thanks Chris!!). This is how I plan to set it up.......please comment, ive never done this before..

4" Sand Bed
A little live rock, about 10 lb stacked in a corner of the fuge
ball o chaeto
1 bottle of ATA "perrier" pods
reverse light cycle with a standard home depot clip on light

Livestock? maybe a couple hermits or snails?

OR

Just pack it full of live rock and leave it dark. If you have the room in your stand, set up a remote deep sand bed.

I thought about just going rock - I have plenty..no room for RDSB though.

I meant that i have some extra rock that can be used in the fuge - not that i had enough...hehe, never enough is there! i want to try out the chaeto method to help keep algae in check and to get a good pod pop rollin again..so maybe i will just go sandbed and ball o chaeto

my fuge is about 30% of my 40B DIY sump

I have the same size fuge on my system. It will swallow 6" of sand and chaeto. Works very well. I also have some extra rock in mine that was left over and live. I figured why not.

I have my sump set up basically the same as you initial thread post....have a 3" sand bed with LR rubble....cheetos..a mangrove....which has grown 4" in the last 2 months......some caulerpa....(feather and red grape).....and some snails....it seems to be working pretty great for me....when ever I break off a piece of LR accidentally in the DT I just toss it in there too....
