My plate died, but I kept it in the light hoping it would come back and it did. There are probably 20 little plates popping up on it. Should I just let them fight it out and then frag the plate up when 3 or 4 have grown to a centimeter or so? The piece itself is only about 2 inches in diameter. Thanks for the advice.

just wait a bit until they are bigger and just cut a few off each month to let more grow. it will be a plate factory! :o)

Super cool! That's what I was hoping. Does yours continue to grow new ones where you break them off or will it stop when these are all gone?

Yeah, I'll give that a try after I get some of these babies growing. Practically, that's what already happened.

I had a LFS once tht tht happened to and eventually the babies just dropped off on their own.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye out. I don't want these to drop into the sand and die.
