Last night as I made my rounds checking on things before the lights went out I found my GBTA that's in a tank in the basement was splitting. I got to watch for a while and took a couple of pictures before the tank went dark. It's pretty cool the way it split it's foot first right up through the mouth. This morning it is still connected a little but looks good otherwise.

Great News!

Hope all is going well. I just got back in town. Give me a call when he has time to heal. If I am first in line :).

This is the second one that has split for me. I started with two of them and one of them split a few months ago. Bobz got one of the split ones and it has just recently split also.

With both of mine it pretty much looked like it was either splitting or dying.

Hopefully they will be all healed up in a couple of weeks. Then the real trick is to get them off the rock. I've gotten lucky twice and have seen them moving from one rock to another and while they were half and half I was able to get them out. Unfortunately the rock it/they are on has some nice deep holes that it/they can put their feet into.

Maybe it is getting ready. My first one totally deflated and turned gray during the process. This one for the most part kept its bubble tips through the whole thing. They're still attached a little and are really looking good right now.

This is off topic I know, but what is a good price to pay for a bubble tip or say a carpet nem? I have talked to people that have gotten them at petco and other LFS for like 30 bucks and everywhere online that I can find are like 70+(this is for a green carpet).

Anyone have any particular places they like to get nems online or just deal straight with the LFS?

I'm not sure myself what a good price is for either of those. Personally, I'd rather deal with other reefers or sponsor LFSs.

Man, this guy is really having a tug-of-war with itself and is really stretched out right now.

Here is what it looked like at 7:30am this morning. I think it was just resting up for what was still to come. The second picture is what it looked like at about 2:30pm.
