Hey Chuck. Its hard to see from the pics, but the eyes look cloudy, which could be flukes. Can you catch him for a freshwater dip to see if anything falls off? If you see anything fall off, then move him to an isolated QT tank and do a prazi treatment.

How are his poops? I'm not sure if he's having any since you said he's not been eating.

Also, any other symptoms as flashing or scratching on the rocks/sandbed, or heavy breathing?

Man not sure i lost all my fish last week due to a heater. ive currently bough a apex. Temp was 85.5 when i noticed dean fish. So you think hes got a chance to make it. Definately cloudy eyes

what are flukes i got fish from XXXXX then next day my fish were all dying

Flukes = flatworms. You would want to do a freshwater dip first before any treatment, because if it is flukes, the fresh water dip will have them fall off vs. treating with prazi and they could spasm and do more harm.

do you have any pics of the hippo? its easier to see on the skin of a hippo if there are any other parasites like ich or velvet.

Get the water to the same temp as the display. Make sure you use RODI water. Aerate it for about 30 min. before the dip. Dip last 3-4 min.

Here are the full details.

Remember, this is just a temp relief and test to see if there are flukes. If it is flukes, you still have to do the prazi treatment.

Can you snap a pic of your hippo?

where do i buy prazi
Its pretty common, most LFS should carry it. If not, you can always grab some API general cure, which is a lesser dose of Prazi+Metroplex. Which might be a good thing, cause some times frayed fins could be a bacterial infection.

Tank looks like shit after getting fish out time to rescape again. uggh

How long did you have that gem tang? Just a bit concerned jumping back in that there might be some underlying issue that could kill off any new livestock
