Finally the cocktail of solutions is taking effect. I had an Hair Algae problem in my 100 gallon tank. I added 9 watt UV, phosban reactor using Rowaphos, some weird algae in the sump I purchased from Tim and phosphate pads.
It's dying off!!! I didn't think it was possible. New Coraline growth is poping up all over the place. I got it on the ropes and I was thinking of adding more Phosban and finishing it off.
Should I leave well enough alone? And what other adverse reactions can I get from zero phosphate? I do have a Gold Rimmed Tang and I have noticed one of my mushrooms seems to not be happy in the current environment. I figure I can add some decorative algae to the main tank that the Tang can nibble on from time to time. I am concerned that the algae that I have in the sump will also die off. Up to this point it looks healthy, but it's not growing. What do ya'll think?
